Update 🛂 Visa & Entry Vietnam ✓ Verified Published: Jul 4, 2026

Vietnam launches new visa categories for tech talent from July 1, 2026

Vietnam introduced two new visa types — UĐ1 for high-skilled digital technology professionals and UĐ2 for their spouses and children under 18 — as part of a push to attract global tech talent.

This is separate from Vietnam's tourist e-visa (still 90 days, multiple entry, available to all nationalities, $25–50 depending on entry type) and the 45-day visa-exemption arrangement that now covers 24 countries including most of the EU, the UK, Japan and South Korea through March 2028. Ordinary tourists are unaffected by the new UĐ1/UĐ2 categories, but long-stay travelers or remote workers in tech fields may find this a more suitable route than repeated tourist e-visas or border runs.
